Bhavya Gandhi quits Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah after 8 years



Fans of Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Cha shah were in for a disappointment as Bhavya Gandhi announced that he won’t be a part of the long-running sitcom anymore. Bhavya played the role of Tappu on the show. He had spent eight years with the show, and grew up on the sets. His initial role was that of a prank-loving kid and Bhavya was lauded for his performance. Over the years, he became one of the favourites with the audience. Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma is one of the most successful shows of all time and even beat Balika Vadhu in 2010 on the TRP charts. Bhavya’s role grew from that of a kid to a responsible teenager.

His mother in a statement said that he had quit the show to grab new opportunities in the entertainment industry. Bhavya’s character was that of Jethalal’s (Dilip Doshi) son, Tipendra Jethalal Gada. The sit-com talks about the adventures of the residents of Gokuldham Society. Every episode is followed by a social commentary. Bhavya also played the role of Suryakant in the film Striker. Bhavya has also won the Best Child Actor Award by Indian Telly Awards.

Bhavya’s one of the highest paid child artistes in the industry raking in around Rs 10,000 per day of the shoot.
